You raise an interesting point, Bixi. (Like how I address you in my comments? It makes me feel like a talk-show guest.) However, I wish to point out that I, for one, am not fighting for a patriarchy-free universe. I'm joined in the struggle for a universe marginally less impinged by patriarchy. It is marginal gains that we ought to pursue and achieve.

I'm not worried that too little oppression in my universe will make my world a dully untroubled place, any more than the world will be overrun by old-growth forests as soon as a president endorsed by the Sierra Club takes office.

Then there's the question of whether it's as useful to blame patriarchy as it is fun--a question so interesting and crucial that it merits its own post, if not its own thread. Should we move this one to Catgut Central, or is that a recipe for killing it?
